Explaining 2012 – What Is The Great Shift Of 2012 About?

For some time now, there has been much speculation and misinformation regarding the events that may transpire around 2012 and particularly, around December 2012. Some refer to this time as the Ascension, “The Great Shift in consciousness,” or the beginning of the “Golden Age.” I see it as a shift from humanity having a surface-level understanding of reality to seeing what’s behind it and what supports it. I also see the “2012 shift” as a transition period, a shift from a time when humanity learns through suffering, to one of learning through joy. This sounds like good news, yet many are anxious about the process and about what’s around the corner.

A few years ago Dr. Eric Pearl (known for his work “The Reconnection”) said the following about December 21, 2012, “We will wake up that morning and still be able to see ourselves in a mirror.” I agree. Although it’s true that we’re living through a most challenging time in the evolution of this planet, one reason it’s challenging is that we’re called to let go of things (which of course will cause disruption), even though what we’re supported by the Universe to let go of are the things that don’t work, the habits, practices, structures and systems that are unwanted and unsustainable.

Just the other night I was lying in bed, thinking about a good example of this, and factory farming came to mind. Is factory farming sustainable? Is it a practice that humanity might want to transform, for a number of valid reasons? Absolutely. Might changes at first cause some disruption? No doubt they will.

In fact, 2012 is about raising our consciousness. We are in the process of raising our consciousness about our entire human experience. We are becoming clearer about the big picture “human story,” our history on this planet. We are gaining clarity about who we are, from where we originally came, and what our purpose and intent for being on this planet in a state of “lowered consciousness” was. We are also striving to successfully complete our higher purpose and our soul agreements each with other. All of these will transform our understanding of our journey, and then it will transform our outer reality.

Before we incarnated into this lifetime, our souls reflected on the awesome opportunity and the privilege it would be to be alive on this planet at this time of great transition. We were chosen out of many souls because we possessed the wisdom, the inner skills and the will to create a new world. We were the ones that were most likely to succeed and least likely to run away.

So how do you begin? You begin by connecting and integrating with your higher self, by connecting and listening to that deeper part of you. (One of my blog posts details a meditation designed especially for connecting with your higher self.)

By connecting with your higher self, you will access your higher self’s wisdom (your wisdom from all your incarnations). By following through with your inner guidance over time, you will gain clarity about your journey, you will discover why you chose what you chose (including your challenges and hardships), and you will discover why you’re here on this planet at this particular time (your unique role that only you can fulfill).

Although the reconnecting process is simple, it’s not very easy and it doesn’t get into full swing overnight. Reconnecting consists of 1. learning to distinguish your inner guidance from mental conditionings, societal programmings and others’ expectations (meaning, your higher-level consciousness from your human-level awareness) and 2. learning to trust that connection enough to promptly and consistently follow through and to make the changes you know you need to make.

Following through is of utmost importance. There’s nothing more effective for trusting in your connection with your higher self than experiencing the favorable and sometimes amazing results that come from actually following through.

You can reconnect to your higher self and even learn to trust it in a relatively short time period, but it takes time to put all the pieces of the puzzle of your life together and integrate the wisdom and the understanding. Jesus Christ possessed this higher-level consciousness. Through his higher self he was able to access his wisdom from all time. He understood who he was; he understood his mission and his purpose. He understood how he fit into the Divine Plan. This is why he taught, “The kingdom of heaven is within.” (The “God spark,” the “God aspect” of yourself is within; your higher self is within.)

Each one of us is contributing to the Great Shift of 2012 by “activating” our consciousness. You raise your consciousness by reconnecting to that higher aspect of yourself. By reconnecting to your higher self and gaining a higher-level perspective, you will be able to put the pieces together of your life and make sense of it so you understand your place in the Divine Plan. You will gain knowledge of your place in the universe, your higher purpose, and you will fulfill your purpose by following the step-by-step guidance you receive from your higher self. The key to all this is reconnecting and integrating with your higher self. It’s what 2012 is all about.

I had two interesting conversations on the topic of channeled messages this week. One person, with whom I conversed with online, had a negative view of channeling and was “filled to the gills with the false definition of ascension and the disinformation around it.” She had had enough of ETs, the Galactic Federation of Light, and other such topics as well. She seemed disappointed.

I can understand where she’s coming from. When she had heard channeled messages promising a better world for humanity, promising at times visits and help from our galactic brothers and sisters, she may have felt herself uplifted–at first. However, if she had understood from the get-go that the ascension process was about her lifting herself up and that ETs coming here to save us was never part of the plan, she would have disregarded most of those questionable promises, worked more committedly on her own personal growth instead, created some fantastic outcomes that she had not even expected as a result, and not have been disappointed when the promises made by extra-dimensional beings did not transpire.

In fact, she would have been thrilled that the ETs had not yet arrived–because she had been able to experience from within something truly liberating and empowering, to experience firsthand who she really was and what she was capable of when given the right opportunity.

While I was writing my first book, What Everyone Believed: A Memoir of Intuition and Awakening (published January 2008) I came across a few channelers online who were  spreading the information that our space brothers and sisters were going to visit us “soon.” Some even claimed that this would happen in 2008.

However, I have had several conversations with the Counsel of Light–who never once mentioned to me that they were going to visit the Earth anytime soon, and I never thought to ask them. The topic just never came up; the focus of our interaction was on my mission. (The Counsel of Light spoke to me through medium Flo Aeveia Magdalena.)

I remember hiking alone one day around 2008, talking out loud to the Counsel of Light (well, they had let me know that they were always around me …). I told them that if they were to actually visit the Earth anytime soon, that would screw things up big time for humanity. It would rob a lot of people of some incredible experiences, of discovering their true power within and discovering who they really are. (I threw in a swear word here and there as well.)

Ever since I considered the topic seriously, my feelings have been that our Galactic brothers and sisters would not reunite with the Earth until after we have entered our Golden Age. But of course one can never be 100 percent sure about such things, and also, so many mediums with large followings were channeling otherwise.

I do not channel, per se. I had gotten my information from what was channeled for me, and from what I had personally experienced and learned from following certain “guidelines” that were given me. Lately, more and more channeled messages have been emphasizing that we are the ones who will do the work and we are the ones who will create the Golden Age on Earth. But from what I have been sensing and seeing recently, many people don’t see this as a privilege and the incredible opportunity it is, but as an impossible burden that they have no idea how to make right.

The other conversation I had this week was with friend and spiritual advisor Pamela Leach. Pamela asked me some questions about my experiences with the channelings of the Counsel of Light and my opinion about the timelines I was given and what actually transpired.

I told Pamela that if the Counsel of Light had told me that it would take me 10 years to get to where I am now (2 books, a blog, finally getting more than just a few people interested in what I have to say, family finally coming back around, life getting more comfortable …), I would have felt an incredible burden placed on me that would have been too much for me to handle, given everything else that was happening in my life at the time. It was much more humane for the Counsel of Light to string me along, to tell me, as they did in 2002, that I was “close … so close” to getting it. That “the blinders would be off real soon.”  When in reality, I felt that I had experienced my blinders coming off a couple years later. And then would come the hard work of pulling it all together in a book. And then the work of getting the information out into the world ….

However, the daily synchronicities and insights I received regarding my work and the regular progress I made motivated me to keep going–for over 10 years now. So when I read the word “soon” in some channeled message, I have a good sense of what that really means.

Life on Earth isn’t going to transform overnight, even after December 21, 2012 comes and goes. But if you make a commitment to fulfill your potential (your higher purpose), the favorable synchronicities, new insights and regular progress you make will have you inspired, motivated and even sometimes completely enthralled.

Divine Plan – Trusting the Divine Plan For the Golden Age During Uncertain Times

Do you trust that the Divine Plan will manifest a Golden Age for humanity? Do you trust yourself to keep your balance and stability even as the world’s institutions seem to spiral out of control? How does the Divine Plan for a Golden Age fit in with all the corruption that’s being exposed in the world right now?

I have just read an article by David Wilcock titled, The Great Revealing: US Marshals Expose Biggest Scandal in History that summarizes the extreme level of corruption the biggest banks in the world (including the Vatican Bank) are (and have been) involved in and the outrageous level of control a very small number of corporations exert on the world’s economy . According to David Wilcock, personnel at the financial investigation branch of the U.S. Department of Justice are responsible for exposing much of this incredible information and the U.S. federal Marshals are the personnel that will enforce the law on behalf of the Department of Justice. (If you have not read Wilcock’s article, I would recommend that you do so. It’s long, but worth it.)

As of this moment these scandals have not yet received much attention in the U.S. mainstream press (and I can imagine there’s much more to come) but how will you respond when the ramifications are actually felt? Do you trust yourself to keep your balance during times of extreme uncertainty and confusion? Will you trust that regardless of what it looks like on the outside, the Outcome will be a world that works for everyone–not just for the few?

A particularly confusing and chaotic time of my life several years ago caused me to “look within” for the answers and the uncomfortableness of my situation pushed me to follow through with the inner guidance I received. Following through in the moment (meaning, promptly and consistently) activated for me the “power of now,” such that shortly after I recognized my guidance and followed through, I experienced incredible, favorable synchronicities and eye-opening insights, one of which was that the Outcome is assured. In other words, when you connect with your higher self and follow through with your inner guidance in the moment (because windows of opportunities come and go), you will eventually come across an experience that will show you without a doubt that the Outcome is assured; that your Outcome is assured. This epiphany / understanding / moment of truth will then help you to keep going in your higher purpose and remain in balance, even when the world appears to fall apart. (In my memoir published early 2008 I wrote that “the outcome is assured,” and this personal epiphany has helped me deal with so much ever since…)

With so much misinformation and confusion out in the world, it’s really crucial to have a personal, firsthand, palpable experience that the Divine Plan is indeed working (regardless of what’s happening in your personal life and what you see in the news reports) and that you as an individual are on the right path. Connecting with the Divine Plan and fulfilling our role is something that’s required of all of us right now. Furthermore, it’s how the Golden Age is to come about.

In the following important message (channeled by Suzy Ward), Mathew says that learning to trust our inner guidance will help not only to reduce our fear, it’s a necessary step in our spiritual growth and evolution right now:

Can you see how receiving personal, positive feedback from the Universe that the Divine is indeed working in your life can help to support you right now? Can you also see that a deeper understanding of the Divine Plan (one that’s clear and makes both intuitive and logical sense) will support you during these uncertain times? No one can give this experience to you (some things you just need to experience for yourself), but I can share with you what I learned in my process so that you can get to that important point faster and with greater ease.

Drake And The Galactic Federation Of Light

Drake Kent (“spokesperson” for the “positive military”) shared some thoughts on the Galactic Federation of Light and their role in the planet’s ascension process via a post on Facebook. For those not on Facebook, I’m sharing what he wrote in this blog post, including my thoughts on the topic. Furthermore, I believe his messages contain “secret” information that can be read between the lines. Drake wrote,

“It has come to my attention that people closely associated with Galactic Federation of Light, are taking adverse stands in their posts. Those involved might want to take note that the info I have put out IS from sources I am familiar with, personally. Over years of contacts, I have found which is and is not to be trusted. Thus, I also ‘temper’ the outed info according to its impact and importance. I was hoping to avoid doing the laundry in a public manner, BUT, those at Galactic Federation of Light leave me no choice.

In our distant past, several things have taken place. One of those was a newly formed federation. This was the first time an organization of this size and complexity was brought into existence. This means that all the interactions between all these differing groups had to be worked out. In addition, the very size was extraordinary and created or caused a bureaucracy that was time consuming and slow to act. The Galactic Federation of Light knew of the ‘bad guys’ infiltrating our planet and could not act quickly enough to prevent it. Further, the ‘quarantine’ was not tightened correctly to offer a full or true quarantine. Therefore, The Galactic Federation of Light is one of the causes of our present situation/problem. ALL involved are attempting to rectify or fix all the things that happened because of the above. I thank all those involved in this effort, including The Galactic Federation of Light.

I am, and have been aware of the presence of our Pleiadian assistants for many years. Like it or not they are and have been here trying to help for thousands of years. The society is a sort of military organizational type. Very organized with a distinctive ‘order’ or command type structure. None of the ‘star’ people are conquering types anymore, as this behavior is not acceptable. This does not mean that all accept humans very readily. Some are only tolerant of our existence. I had hoped to leave this area of discussion out of the things I have been talking about. However, just as The Creator has stated, everyone needs to work together in order that mankind can elevate itself. I know that as this is accomplished, man will be seen as much more ‘fitting’ to join with our much more advanced brothers and sisters.

The missions are well defined. Man is to clean his own ‘nest’ as much as he can. AFTER/during this, then we will be reintroduced and reunited with our star relations.  I offer that We The People have the first mission…the clean up. Therefore, ALL of us here will need to concentrate on our ‘human’ condition.  Man has made a lot of very serious messes. Even though we are all human, we have terrible problems accepting each other…race, creed, beliefs, and social differences.    As we become free, the responsibilities of that freedom, have to be a part of a new way of being, in all ways.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have enough to do just taking care of our own problems. Advice is welcome, new ideas, and most of all, letting go of all the ‘hate’ and artificial disagreements we have made for our own shortcomings…

The new order is one of peace…nothing more, nothing less. I suggest we all get busy with our betterment, as ET/Angels will only come AFTER we do.

A very nice message from Drake, no? The only thing I would question, that doesn’t feel right to me, is the claim that a long, long time ago, “the Galactic Federation of Light didn’t act quickly enough” to prevent the “bad guys” from infiltrating our planet. This may be what the Galactic Federation of Light believes (they might have really felt they were inadequate). However, from the perspective of the Divine Plan, from the perspective of the Higher Self that’s connected to Source, the truth is more empowering (and more glorious) than that.

The Divine Plan is really about spiritual growth. It was and still is part of the Divine Plan that this planet be an intense place for personal and spiritual growth (that occurs as quickly as possible when souls experience great challenges). But for those who are ready to experience the next step in the process, it’s now becoming possible to grow and learn through joy, through connecting with your higher self and following through with your inner guidance.

I have known for several years now that we will not be visited or handed things to us on a silver platter (even special technologies) until we take the mature path to spiritual growth and become spiritual adults. (When we’re just handed things, where is the growth?) Besides, Source is not going to cheat us out of the incredibly empowering experience of cleaning up our own messes. Cleaning up “our nest” is not just about cleaning up the Earth, but about clearing up our own karma.

There are many ways to clean up your “nest,” besides the obvious ones. Putting your money into local, small businesses, for one. Eating right, getting healthy, stopping the taking of drugs. Do what you can, and allow the Divine to take care of the parts you truly can’t. (Often in very interesting ways!) Divine intervention works when YOU follow your inner guidance and fulfill your higher purpose. And enlightenment comes a lot faster when your focus is on fulfilling your unique contribution.

What the Galactic Federation does or does not do really doesn’t interest me a whole lot right now. When they come, they come. (If they arrived right now, that would screw up a lot of things we’ve been working so hard on for ages.)

In summary, The Galactic Federation of Light, the “higher forces,” aren’t going to do it for us. You have the higher force within you. It’s your responsibility to use it. The Galactic Federation will keep their vow to have us figure this mystery out for ourselves. And Source will not cheat us of the incredibly beautiful and empowering experience of discovering who we really are.

Waiting for the Shift – The Great Shift of 2012

Many people are waiting for a shift to occur, one that’s designed by the divine to bring freedom and prosperity to the world. This shift includes, but is not limited to, important changes in the power structures of the planet. People are waiting for an “Event” to happen that will finally prove without a doubt that real changes that benefit all of humanity are underway. (The “Event” here refers to, among other things, the arrests of those members of the powerful elite who have committed great crimes and fraud against humanity and the planet.)

Last week, those who have been receiving updates on these issues through the perspective of an insider connected to the military / Pentagon named Drake were urged to vote at the request of the powerful elite. The voting was to determine whether that small segment of the population was open to the elite’s surrender (which would grant them slightly more leniency, I’m assuming), or whether the preference was to fight them to the very end. (Which the elite claimed would reduce the population of this planet by two-thirds.) From what I understand, the vast majority of voters preferred the elite’s peaceful surrender over war with them. (There’s no surprise there.)

The problem I had with this vote is that only a very small percentage of the population was aware of it. Since the powerful elite own the media, it would have been a cake walk for them to have many millions of people vote. But really, why do you need our vote? Why not just surrender? (You don’t need our permission.)

Anyway, according to Ben Fulford, high-level meetings, allegedly to discuss the terms of the surrender, are scheduled from the 15th to the 20th of June. (June 21 is the date the powerful elite have been given for their surrender, according to various sources.)

For those who aren’t aware of this development, this may sound like incredible news. But for others who have been following alternative / spiritual news for months or even years, things seem as though they’ve been dragging on forever…

Another Month … Nothing New

There are of course many kinds of reactions to these developments. Blossom Goodchild’s latest post titled “Another Month … Another Post … Nothing New” reflects her disappointment at the promises of positive change that were given for so long, particularly these last few weeks where real action by real people in real organizations (not channeled) was promised, and yet we’re halfway through 2012 and there’s very little tangible evidence that anything on this planet is changing for the better. She has also been getting many emails from readers who are similarly disenchanted.

I can understand her frustration because I too have been expecting larger changes in the world by now. (However, I also remember 11 years ago when the Counsel of Light, through a medium named Flo Magdalena, instructed me to write books on how life works here. It took me what seemed like forever to get the momentum going. But even though my first book took me longer than I thought, eventually I did get it completed. So I have faith in the future…)

Another reaction: a blogger named KiboDabi wrote an Open Letter to Drake, Cobra, Fulford, et al, where he rejects the 2 options given us and calls for a vote for “God” instead.

I would agree with KiboDabi if by “God” he meant “Divine Plan” or “Source” (which each individual has access to through their higher self), except that he refers to “God” as a “He” and brings up Galactic ships, Ascended Masters, Jesus, Mohammad, and Buddha. In other words, the same old tired babble of being saved by “higher beings”–which anyone who’s hip to the the Divine Plan and the Ascension / Awakening process knows will not happen. (These “higher beings” are only “higher” because they experienced a shift in their consciousness–which anyone can do, by the way. And now it is your turn.)

Want God?

To me, “God” is the Divine Plan that’s already in place, and has been in place since the beginning of time. It’s a plan that makes a lot of sense–from the perspective of the higher self. However, each one of us must connect to the Divine Plan by connecting to our higher self and mustering up the courage to follow through with our inner guidance. This is how we will get pieces of the Divine Plan and it’s how we play our part.

I have been / am doing my part of the Divine Plan–which is helping people realize the importance of connecting with their higher self and developing the confidence and the courage to follow through with their inner guidance promptly and consistently. It took courage for me to leave the life I previously had so that I could follow my higher purpose, and it still takes daily effort to continue on this path. Anyway, confidence and courage are necessary to complete your part in the Divine Plan.

This doesn’t mean we all have the same role or responsibilities. The grandma down the street may not have a thing to do with the arrests, but her higher purpose may be to share information on GMOs and processed foods with her community for example, even though her family may own the local supermarket chain. What I mean is that it doesn’t matter who you are or how important or unimportant in the grand scheme of things you may think your role in the Divine Plan is, it will require a heck of a lot of courage to finally get things rolling in the right direction. But this is how we will learn who we really are.

Divine Guidance – The Importance of Following Divine Guidance

My last blog post Divine Guidance – How To Recognize Divine Guidance and the two examples detailed in that post that show the variety of ways one can receive higher guidance prompted a response from a moderator at Rumor Mill News:

“I’m not getting the meaning of her examples. They seem a bit unimportant but I would like to stand corrected if anyone can explain. Thanks.”–MisterBoll

Since no one over at Rumor Mills News came forth with a response, I am responding to MisterBoll’s comment in this blog post.

MisterBoll, it doesn’t matter if the examples given seem a bit unimportant to you. Not all instances of divine guidance are going to be dramatic or life-and-death. What’s important is that we as individuals develop confidence in our inner guidance and our ability to recognize and correctly discern divine guidance. The fact is, most people do not have a well developed inner guidance system / internal B.S. detector … because cultural programming has taught us to mostly ignore our inner guidance. It’s important we reverse this trend now.

Furthermore, the only way that humanity will create a new world that works for everyone is by following divine guidance. There is a Divine Plan for creating a Golden Age for humanity, but it will not be accomplished simply by doing things that have been done before. Everything we’ve tried before will not work. Indeed, what we need to do is to resolve the world situation once and for all, to complete it for all time, from the highest level of consciousness we have access to–our connection to Source.

This means that a shift in consciousness is required. By “shift in consciousness” I don’t mean that we’re aware of the extent of the lies we’ve been taught about our world or the level of corruption of our governments. This level of awareness is important but  insufficient to resolve the situation. Rather, we must become aware through firsthand experience why we willingly chose to create this scenario / Earth Experiment in the first place–which requires that we cultivate a deep relationship with our higher self, our connection to Source. (And this really isn’t an option.)

The fact is, we did not embark on this long, long, hard journey merely to survive the experience, but to realize its amazing and tremendous benefits. You will discover the gifts of your life choices when you connect deeply with your higher self, follow through with its guidance, and begin to fulfill your contribution to the Golden Age–which, by the way, will give you more joy than you ever thought possible.

Note that your mind would not know why you chose to experience the life you’re experiencing, but your higher self does. Your higher self (your soul, that has been around since the beginning) will show you one puzzle piece at a time if you get to know it and follow the guidance within. If you follow the guidance within, you will discover your gifts and the level of your success will be unprecedented. This is why most of my writings involve connecting with your higher self and following through with your inner guidance. It is THE KEY to everything.

The only way the people of Earth will win this Dark vs. Light game is if we trust that there is indeed a Divine Plan for our victory, a bigger picture that includes everything and everyone, and that we consciously follow this plan to the best of our ability. And the way we connect to this plan is by connecting to our higher self and following through with its guidance promptly and consistently.

Most people cannot develop this kind of confidence overnight. It’s a process that often requires baby steps and simple examples. As you can imagine, following through with your guidance in spite of the contrary opinions of those who are considered the experts requires a bit of confidence, particularly when the guidance places you in uncomfortable situations. (I am reminded of Jesus here. Well, we all, in our own way, now get to follow Jesus’s example…)

Divine Guidance – How To Recognize Divine Guidance

It’s important to recognize divine guidance at this time of great change. But how do you tell divine guidance from mere coincidence? Maybe you’re actively seeking divine guidance in your life, but you’re not yet confident in your ability to distinguish between a coincidence and a sign from the Universe. In this article, I share some of my experiences with receiving divine guidance.

I wasn’t always confident in my ability to distinguish divine guidance and signs from the Universe from mere coincidence. Neither was I confident in my intuitive abilities. In fact, the idea of receiving guidance from the divine wasn’t even in my consciousness (the impression I grew up with was that it was something that had died out with the Saints). It wasn’t until I experienced a huge crisis in my life (that I had no idea how to resolve) that I actively sought it out.

When I began my process of developing a connection with my higher self so that I could receive higher guidance, amazing things began to happen to me regularly. (Things really kicked in when my higher self got that I was committed to following through with the guidance I received.)

Sometimes when I had a specific question I wanted answered by higher guidance, I’d receive the answer when I awakened at night; it would just come to me in my thoughts as I was waking up. Other times the answer would come to me through other people, on the radio, or by “randomly” picking up a book at the library. By cultivating a relationship with my higher self and developing trust in it, I realized I was increasing my connection to Interconnectedness, to the Divine. (Some call this “the void,” All That Is, or Source. Still others use more technical terms such as “Zero-Point Field.”)

Besides the types of intuitive happenings mentioned above, I also experienced another type of guidance from the universe. This was when something “out of the ordinary” or unusual happened more than once in a short time period. When something unusual happened two or three times in a row within, say, a 24-hour period, I learned that this was a sign from the universe and I needed to pay attention. Sometimes it motivated me to take some kind of action, but sometimes I just needed to notice it without doing anything in particular. The connection would become clearer later. The following is an example.

The Volcano Example

Several years ago, I received an email one morning from a friend from college named Mary who lived in New York City. The email let me know that she and her husband had just bought a house on “The Big Island of Hawaii–the Volcano island.” When I read the email I “heard” the word volcano emphasized in my mind. (Besides, Mary was a busy medical doctor who sent only the briefest of emails, why was she telling me something I already knew?)

After I read her email I dropped my kids off at school and after a short hike, stopped by Trader Joe’s for groceries. I poured myself a cup of coffee and chatted with the woman whose job was to offer samples of Trader Joe’s products. As I was pouring my coffee Stacey said, “That’s our new coffee you’re trying. It’s Volcano coffee.” She offered a sample of some new food to another customer, then turned to me again, saying, “You’re trying our new Volcano coffee. How do you like it?” (Stacey also seemed to emphasize volcano.)

A light bulb went off in my head: two different people referred to “volcano” three times within about two hours when usually, nobody talks about volcanoes. I got this was a sign from the universe for me to pay attention, but I had no idea why. (I couldn’t do anything about any volcano! And the nearest volcano was about 250 miles away.) In such cases, I learned to simply make a mental note to myself: e.g. “There’s something about a volcano.”

Two days later I drove to the Post Office with a package. I scanned the radio stations, searching for a decent song to listen to when a news reporter announced that earlier that day, a volcano had erupted on a small island in the Pacific. (Interestingly, this was the only mention of the Volcano eruption I came across, which I just happened to hear because I was playing with the radio dial.)

Of course I wasn’t supposed to do anything about the volcano. But the incident further validated the idea that whenever something unusual happens two or three times in a row, it’s in your best interest to pay attention. (And it also helped validate to me that I was “in tune” with divine guidance.) The following is another example.

The Treasure Hunt Example

I have a friend whose higher self sends him on “treasure hunts.” Sometimes he will hear his inner self say, “turn right here”–and he does. One night he was driving down the freeway when he was directed to exit and drive into a parking lot at Walmart after closing hours.

“Now what?” he asked, sitting alone in his car in an empty lot, feeling a bit silly. (This kind of thing happened to him a number of times and he had learned to be amused by it.)

“Look to your right,” he “heard” his inner voice say. He went outside and found a CD player with several CDs in it, and the music and lyrics on a couple of the CDs were meaningful to him.

Stuff like this actually happens; it happened to me many times and it can happen to you. My understanding about this is: by sending him on these treasure hunts, his higher self is teaching him to have greater confidence in divine guidance. I know that this skill of following his inner guidance will become mighty healthordisease.com useful to him when things really get going on this planet. I am sure that following your inner guidance will play a bigger role in the very near future as the many changes in the world come about. The more you experience such synchronicities after you follow through with divine guidance, the more confidence you will have in it.

From time to time I like to add a useful excerpt of a channeled message:

“Trust in your inner guidance as you go about your daily activities and follow the inner promptings as they occur.

Many momentous events are taking place on a Cosmic level and those who follow their inner guidance know that these are not ordinary times that you are living in. It requires steadfastness, courage, trust and perseverance to continue on your daily path when all about you it seems that everything stays the same.

…We advise that the best avenue is to go within each day and intentionally align with your Higher Self and ask for guidance and direction. By daily making this intention a conscious habit, much that is good will flow into your life.”–Hilarion, channeled by Marlene Swetlishoff, May 20, 2012.

If you take the steps to cultivate a more real connection with your higher self, you will be guided on what to do so that the Divine Plan of a Golden Age for you and for humanity will manifest. In any case, increasing your connection with your higher self and learning to recognize divine guidance is certainly a reassuring and empowering experience during this time of confusion, unrest and chaos.

Drake, Our Sovereignty And Your Role In the Divine Plan

In recent interviews, Drake (spokesperson for the “secret” Sovereignty movement being led by the Pentagon as well as a variety of groups at the local, state and national levels) discussed the basic sovereignty of the individual and the spiritual growth and evolution that each one of us is being urged to go through during this time of transition. As the many societal changes and the resulting confusion and chaos come about, we will no doubt be encouraged to look deeper within for answers. Drake proposed that:

“The average person is going to have to grow up considerably…We are to advance from this level of reality to the next level, like going from Cro-Magnon man to the present–that’s the amount of advancement we need to go through…The ancient cultures such as Atlantis will be child’s play [compared to what will be possible in the not-too-distant future]”–Drake, on James Madison’s Community Call Radio Show, April 26, 2012

In a more recent interview, Drake explained that the basic quality that people need to listen to is their conscience. The right thing to do comes from within, he said. It’s up to the individual to get back in touch with their conscience as to how to be and how to act. In a nutshell, it is time to “activate your spiritual self,” said Drake on Free Thinking Radio (BlogTalkRadio ), May 3, 2012.

Some of us have been working on our spiritual growth and evolution for many years and have much to contribute regarding how to activate our spiritual selves.  In light of this, I prefer to use the word “higher consciousness” over “conscience,” as “conscience” has been misused in religions as it often implies feelings of guilt. (I was raised Catholic and this was my experience.) Furthermore, to activate your spiritual self you must connect with and integrate with your “higher self” (also known as your true self, your soul, which is your direct access point to God, “Source” and the Divine Plan). Part of integrating with your higher self means following through with your inner guidance and making real changes that are in line with your higher self–rather than merely going along with “the way things are.”

In my eBook Activating 2012: A Practical Guide for Navigating 2012 with Confidence and Clarity I show that–without a doubt–the Divine Plan for humanity just on the horizon is a world that works for everyone, a Golden Age. Of course during the transition period there will be some confusion and chaos, but much of it can be mitigated by understanding the bigger picture of what’s going on–and why. None of us knows exactly how things will go down but I know that if it’s happening, it’s part of the Divine Plan. I also know that each one of us has a role in the Divine Plan that we are meant to play–which we discover by connecting within and following through. Many spiritual teachers, including channeled material such as that from Mathew Ward, have encouraged us to “go within”:

“We urge you to develop your capacity for discernment and go within for answers. Whether you think of this as reaching your higher self, godself, inner knowing, God Himself or any other designation you may call this “voice,” it is your soul, wherein all truth is known, communicating with your consciousness.” –Mathew Ward, May 1, 2012

But what does it mean to “look within?”

There’s a lot more to “looking within” than what those words literally imply. Looking within (or connecting within, meditating) is only the beginning of the process of spiritual growth and upliftment. There are other important steps involved that hardly anyone ever talks about. For example, if you keep looking inwardly but you ignore the inner guidance you receive (as often, it’s very subtle) or if your insights never get applied in real life, you will remain stuck at the beginning of the process and you will not advance.

Several years ago, when my life was a confusing mess, I spent months looking within and I became frustrated with myself for not making much progress. (I mean that I wanted to feel reconnected and integrated with my higher self, I wanted to gain a greater, more uplifting perspective, have more flow in my life, gain new insights, activate favorable synchronicities, make good things happen around me, etc.)

Then came the time when I got so fed up being stuck that I vowed to follow through with my inner guidance immediately and consistently. That meant I took some risks, of course: your inner guidance isn’t always going to agree with conventional wisdom or “the way things are.”

It wasn’t until I made the commitment to follow though and actually followed through (I trusted my higher self enough to do that) did I begin to experience the amazing synchronicities and new insights that began to flow into my life–including the “spiritual rush” that Drake mentioned (during his May 3rd interview) was much better than drugs.

So why would you want to look within and take the necessary steps to integrate with your higher self? So that you experience the connection with the Divine consistently in your own life and the upliftment and inner peace that results when you truly get what you came here here to get. (Which will be so important for you to experience in these uncertain times, and which will at the same time create the new world.)

Here are some words from Channel Blossom Goodchild that I just had to include here because they’re encouraging to those who happen to be trudging through the muck right now:

“Keep hold of your KNOWING within.  Walk that last mile together in strength. If your hearts did not KNOW DEEP DOWN INSIDE that ALL that you have been through and all that you continue to endure had a purpose … it would have collapsed in upon itself long ago. Yet it is because YOU KNOW that you KEEP ON … no matter what.  You FEEL it inside you  … there is no other reason you would persevere … other than this very fact that YOU KNOW that ALL that we have promised shall come about.”–Blossom Goodchild, May 3, 2012″

And some words from Channel Valerie Donner:

“We will continue to inform you as necessary. We will all proceed as directed. Right now I suggest you proceed with your inner guidance and direction. The Divine Plan (a world that works for everyone) cannot fail when we connect within and follow through with our inner guidance, and the events that are happening right now are pressing more and more people to awaken and to search within for answers. Connecting and integrating with your higher self is the key to fulfilling your contribution to the Divine Plan.

Drake and the 2012 Scenarios – What To Believe?

I listened to a couple interviews of “Drake” over the weekend where he explained how freedom will be returned to the people of the United States (and the world), with the cooperation of the country’s military, Native American organizations, as well as other freedom-inspired groups. The events that are being planned over the next couple of months (which include the arrests of certain elite who have committed crimes against the population) will no doubt be a shock to many, he explained. However, the changes in society and in the economy that will be implemented will be, in the longer term, for the greater good of all. (Googling Drake + Deatra as well as Drake + David Wilcock is a good place to start for learning more about this development.)

I’ve also read blog posts from light-workers who are not on the same page with Drake. One reason for this may be that the Drake plan does not resemble the possible scenarios proposed by certain Channels (which often include Disclosure, reunion with our space brothers and sisters, as well as getting their cool technology). It seems–at least to me–that if things don’t go according to some predicted scenario, certain lightworkers won’t be happy.

There’s also evidence that many lightworkers are perplexed right now. Just today I read a blog post of Visionkeeper, who was wondering whether lightworkers are even going in the right direction. From the comments and emails she has been getting on her blog, people are “very discouraged right now, they feel let down and manipulated yet again.” She acknowledges that many people want proof that things are going in the right direction, but asks them to continue to believe with love in their hearts, without proof. She also concludes that we are seriously being tested.

Well, I’m certain that the changes will not happen according to anyone’s predicted scenario. No one knows how this time of change will play out, not even Jesus himself. I think it’s best to let go of the addiction to having to know beforehand how it will all manifest and keep trusting in yourself and in the Divine Plan.

I understand that many people, including many lightworkers, are perplexed about who to listen to, who to believe these days but I must say this is exactly the right place to be. Because a big part of the problem here has to do with looking to others for what to do or believe.

Your Pain: The Big Test

The Big Test is not about believing in some channeling or some “Ascension scenario.” It’s all about believing in yourself. It’s about being deeply connected with your higher self and this deep connection with yourself is what will get you through these challenging times. It’s about you being sovereign and whole. Because when you connect deeply with your higher self and follow through with your guidance you get to a point where you trust in yourself and in the divine plan–not in some Channel or some proposed scenario. Trusting yourself rather than some Channel or predicted scenario is part of the Big Test.

The problem as I see it is this: 1. Relying on others (Channels, gurus, and others) for what to believe and 2. There were (and still are) too many people channeling prophesies that never happened–which has disappointed many. (Well, if you had done your inner and outer work you would have understood why the predictions that have been channeled could not have possibly been a part of Divine Plan. I understand from some compelling firsthand experiences that any scenario that even hinted of rescue would not be a part of Divine Plan.)

Your Proof: Feedback From the Universe

The manual for how to successfully get through this difficult time of change is within you, but this means reconnecting with your higher self and developing enough confidence in that connection so that you follow through with your inner guidance even if it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable…because this is when you will receive feedback from the Universe (that will motivate you to go on).

You need to reconnect with your higher self and follow through with your individual inner guidance promptly and consistently, because this is when you will receive regular feedback–in the form of favorable synchronicities, new insights, more flow, and greater universal cooperation in your life–which will help you recognize that you’re definitely on the right track. (Re: this reconnecting process, there are a couple of things that usually trip people up, and I go into these issues in my 2 books and on my blog).

It is best not have any expectations about 2012 prophesies or “scenarios.” The divine plan will not go according to some person’s channeling or understanding. There will no doubt be surprises. I would caution even lightworkers to let go of their preconceived notions of how this “ascension” is to play out. Everyone is to connect within and follow their own inner guidance. Connect within and become a sovereign being (with direct access to Source) and you will fulfill your part in the divine plan.

It is interesting that although the Drake plan may appear to be highly organized, Drake says there is no parent organization or leader behind it. (I can definitely get that…)

I propose that the following is the missing piece right now: Reconnecting with your higher self and developing enough confidence in that connection so that you follow through with your inner guidance promptly and consistently even when it’s inconvenient or places you outside your comfort zone. By doing this, you will experience the synchronicities and insights and gain the bigger picture understanding and confidence in your inner self that will have you stop listening to others for guidance on what to do–even your most cherished guru or “sacred” book–because you will have proven to yourself that you have direct connection to Source. (Which is, as I have already mentioned, the Big Test.)

Higher Purpose – Do Your Daily Struggles Block Your Higher Purpose?

Do you feel that your daily struggles prevent you from fulfilling your higher purpose? In this post, I expand a bit further on the topic of higher purpose, inspired by a reader’s comment from my last post. Jonas wrote,

“My question is, I feel like my belief that I have a higher purpose places me in a position where I feel like I should back away from all my daily struggles and try “winging it”; as in listening to my inner guidance for the next step in life after having dropped major parts of my life (friends/family/job/living place) as a cause of this belief. Should I not be backing away from my struggles? Sometimes I feel like my struggles are distracting me from my higher self/purpose, yet this seems potentially like an excuse to “escape” the problems. Could I develop a greater connection to my higher self if I stopped the daily struggles/demands and solely focused on my inner development (as uncertain as the future may then be) or is it better for my growth to let the time come when my higher self gets through to me in spite (or because) of my daily struggles? Any advice or thoughts?”

What a great question! I totally get where he’s coming from and am reminded of the time several years ago when I was struggling to begin my higher purpose. I wanted to know what my higher purpose was, and I wanted to begin it, NOW! (That’s becasue my life was really painful back then. Some weird events had turned my life into a painful mess, and I just knew that the faster I was doing my higher purpose, the sooner my life would get back in order…A great motivator, by the way.)

The first thing the Counsel of Light had me do was develop a deeper, clearer relationship with my higher self. The Counsel of Light knew my life situation (a family, not a lot of free time, two little kids) so they asked me to spend about 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes before I went to bed in meditation, and to write for a few minutes whenever I had the chance.

They called this time in meditation cultivating the “vertical connection,” the connection with my higher self. I did not have a whole lot of time to focus on this vertical connection (my inner development) as I had family responsibilities while going through a personal crisis. In fact, most days a 10-15 minute meditation in bed is all I actually accomplished towards this vertical connection.

Then some months later the Counsel of Light talked to me about developing the “horizontal connection”–the connection you have in the real world. This was about bringing your higher self into the real world through your actions, attitude, speaking, and so on. So…there’s the vertical connection and the horizontal connection.

No one can say that the vertical connection is more important than the horizontal connection, or that the horizontal connection is more important. I have found that both are equally important.  And in fact, I discovered that it’s when I took action in the real world that I made the fastest spiritual progress. It’s when I worked the muscles of the horizontal connection that my confidence in my higher self (the vertical connection) grew the most.

Futhermore, following through with your inner guidance in the real world should help you resolve your daily struggles. It should help you get through your struggles successfully by finding new solutions to them. I still experience daily struggles, but I see them in a totally different light now. I don’t view them as obstacles to my goals anymore but rather as opportunities in disguise, placed there by divine design. In fact, the Counsel of Light said that going through the situation rather than trying to get out of it is a way to get you further than you ever thought possible. So rather than backing away from or trying to escape the struggles of daily life, accept them and ask how you can move things forward.

Remember that you don’t know what your higher purpose is. Nobody knows. I wrote in my last post that your higher purpose will likely be in an field you’re passionate about, but that doesn’t mean you have to be an expert in that field right now.

For example, I was not trained to be a writer; I knew I wasn’t any good, anyway. And I certainly wasn’t confident as a writer when I was told by the Counsel of Light that I would write books. However, the Counsel of Light “eased” me into this undertaking by telling me that I would write “children’s books.” (Children’s books…not such a bid deal. I think I could do it I thought back then…)

However…over time I developed the capacity to write by listening within, writing it down, and spending many, many hours working on my writing, getting feedback, etc. And once I was on a roll, the so-called “children’s books” became books for adults.

So with regard to the question of focusing on your inner development (the “vertical” connection), you really don’t need a lot of time out of your day to do that. Fifteen minutes a day in the morning, fifteen at night, and paying attention to your sacred space several times a day (which “preps” you to watch for your inner guidance) is what you need. And then what you really need to do is to implement (follow through promplty and consistently) in the real world (the “horizontal” conenction) for maximum growth and forward movement.

In summary, it’s the integration of the vertical connection with the horizontal connection that allows for the fastest personal and spiritual development.
